The Crypto King’s Shadow Network Exposed

Aiden Pleterski, self-proclaimed “Crypto King,” continues to face a mounting list of charges related to his scheme. One of his investors, Akil Heywood, has been charged with an additional dozen offenses, including allegedly tampering with evidence in a co-accused’s case.

The charges against Heywood are not isolated incidents. In December 2022, he was accused of orchestrating Pleterski’s kidnapping, allegedly motivated by a desire to recoup the hundreds of thousands of dollars he had invested with Pleterski, who promised returns that never materialized. The kidnapping was brutal: waterboarding, cigarette burns, and beatings with golf clubs over several days.

Deren Akyeam-Pong, one of Pleterski’s co-accused, pleaded guilty to nine charges related to the kidnapping and has since been cooperating with investigators. Heywood allegedly attempted to dissuade Akyeam-Pong from giving evidence in a judicial proceeding, highlighting the far-reaching tentacles of this shadow network.

The intimidation tactics employed by these individuals are alarming, underscoring their willingness to compromise their own integrity to maintain control over the truth. Pleterski’s case has been marred by controversy since his investors began seeking recovery of their funds in 2022.

Only about $3 million of the $40 million invested has been recovered through bankruptcy proceedings, which also revealed that Pleterski spent a staggering $16 million on himself. The Crypto King’s trial is set for October, but it remains to be seen whether justice will be served.

Toronto police have charged Heywood with a string of offenses related to a street racing crash in Scarborough last month, which injured four people, including an infant. This incident raises further questions about Heywood’s behavior behind the wheel and adds to the evidence against him.

The trial scheduled for November is expected to shed more light on the intricate web of deceit surrounding Pleterski’s operation.
